Review a bill and EOB
When the provider already billed, review the bill and EOB in BenAsk—compare amounts and draft a question without filing a second claim.
Use Review a bill I already got when the provider submitted to insurance and you have a bill, an EOB, or both. This is a case folder, not a second filing. Member-filed packets still start from the Claims journey.
When to review instead of file
- You received a provider bill after an in-network (or billed) visit and want to know if you should pay.
- An EOB (explanation of benefits) is in hand or on the way.
- The question is allowed amount, deductible applied, network status, NSA / surprise billing, or a billing hold.
How the review wizard works
- Start from Claims or chat
Dashboard → Claims → New claim, then Review a bill I already got. From chat, a Review this … bill and EOB card deep-links with purpose, type, and any pinned bill/EOB.
- Attach documents
The bill is required; the EOB is strongly recommended. There is no “already submitted to the other plan” COB checkbox on this path.
- Confirm who and which plan
Pick the patient and the selected Coverage plan named on the EOB. Review tracks one primary plan only.
- Check facts, then contact the plan
Confirm extracted amounts and the billed-vs-typical check. Open this review saves the case under Needs your input. On the claim, Contact your plan has portal and copy-ready inquiry—not a mailer packet.
FAQ
- Does review file a new claim with my insurer?
No. Review tracks a visit the provider already billed. Filing a member packet is a separate purpose.
- Why can’t I mark this ready to submit?
Ready to submit and Submitted are for member-filed packets. Review uses Info needed, Paid, Appealed, and Closed.
